What is Day Center?
We send our carers to day centers for people who want to enjoy a day out, have a cooked lunch, and participate in activities, but now find it difficult to go alone. Our support workers are skilled in helping people who are mostly independent but need a bit of assistance or reassurance. They help boost confidence and ensure that there is someone there to take care of any needs.
We are also exploring the idea of creating our own day centers. These centers would allow people to spend the day or even stay for a longer period, giving their families a much-needed break.
Older people who live alone might feel very lonely, spending long stretches of time without seeing anyone. Even if they have home carers visiting once or twice a day, it can still be a long wait between visits. Our day care centers offer a chance for these individuals to get out of the house and meet new people.
At the day care centers, they can join in activities, make new friends, and enjoy the company of others. This helps them build a social network and find lasting friendships, reducing feelings of isolation and making their days more enjoyable.
