We send our Carers to Day centres for service users who have the desire to enjoy a day out, share a cooked lunch and join in with activities, but now find themselves less able to get out unaccompanied. Our Support workers are trained in promoting independence and assisting with service users who are able to do most things by themselves but just need a little help, or even just to give the service users that extra confidence knowing there are people there to look after them.
We are currently looking into developing our own day centres for service users to come for the day, or for a longer period so that the family of the service users family can have a well deserved break.
